Litigation
We assisted our clients with obtaining judgments in excess of $5 million dollars in a complex real estate and securities law case.
We obtained a sexual harassment settlement for our client for over $1,500,000 in total compensation. Our client was a high-level officer who was forced out of a position due to harassment.
We obtained over $650,000 for a physician who alleged wrongful termination claims against a University related to his employment.
We obtained more than $550,000 in wages and other compensation, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in stock-based compensation, for a CMO arising from breach of contract and related claims.
We obtained just short of $500,000 for an employee who came to us with a whistleblower claim, and who we assisted with IRS whistleblower and related claims.
We obtained a verdict on behalf of our client in a breach of contract and wage claim in excess of $400,000, in addition to an ownership interest in our client's former company.
We obtained a jury verdict in our favor on behalf of our client, a C.E.O, who was owed compensation. After a successful appeal, judgment was awarded in our client's favor for $386,281.
We settled an ERISA and ADA claim for our client prior to trial for $350,000, which included all damages he claimed in the suit.
We settled an ADA and FMLA claim for our client for $325,000.
We obtained $300,000 for a client who asserted claims against her former employer for sexual harassment, assault and battery and related claims.
Business
We've assisted numerous clients with obtaining summary judgment or other dismissals of lawsuits brought against them by other parties.
We helped our client recover more than $600,000 in money owed to it by a former employee /owner for breach of fiduciary duty and related claims.
Our client came to us after a DOL audit and DWS audit attempted to reclassify all of its contract workers (more than 80) as employees. The reclassification would have destroyed our client's business. We prevailed in challenging the misclassification.
We defended a business against misappropriation of trade secrets, theft, conversion and non-compete claims arising from its purchase of a business. After extensive discovery, the plaintiffs agreed to settle the claim without any monetary payment.
Our client came to us for assistance with helping an international business headquartered in Japan develop policies, procedures and practices for its U.S. based operations in a manner that was consistent with its culture. We worked with our client to assist it with the transition, implement appropriate practices for its U.S. operations and provide training to certain personnel.
Health Care
Our client came to us to salvage a $5.5 million dollar expansion and renovation of a health care facility that one of Utah’s largest law firms couldn’t complete. To close the deal, our law firm effectuated the first purchase and transfer of Medicaid licensed beds in the State of Utah under a new statute.
We assisted our client to avoid millions of dollars in claimed Medicare and Medicaid overpayments, and avoid any individual civil or criminal liability for the officers of our clients.
